About
My name is Nate Hile. My wife Christina encouraged me to start this blog and write a poem a day for a year. I started on May 1st, 2010. Who am I? I’m a computer salesman by trade. I was a cook for a number of years and I have an obsession with barbecue. A lot of my poems have a southern vibe going on, but alas I am a first generation yankee. My mother is from Alabama (Cullman County). I spent a good portion of my formative years with my father’s parents. My Granny Hile was from Huntsville and my Grampa Hile was from Oklahoma City. Sooner football was the state religion of my Grampa Hile’s house, as Granny was mostly indifferent about sports, so I’ve been a Sooners fan since birth essentially. We are formed by the the stories we here as children, and the stories I heard were all told with a southern accent (literally and figuratively). Though I haven’t cooked professionally in a number of years my dream is to open a little barbecue joint someday. I’m thinking of adding recipes to the blog at some point.

And I for one will be so excited when you add recipes….I have such passion for good food too:) Happy 4th of July…from Australia:) And keep up the good work…you’re amazing.
