Living Outside the Lines

When you grow up

I hope you can still wear underpants on your head,

run around with boots and a bright yellow raincoat,

naked below the waist,

dance around in your purple polka dot pajamas,

with a backpack, and a safety orange hunting cap with earflaps,

rocking out to a music only you can hear.

I hope you still color the sky an impossible shade of vermillion,

and never color inside the lines.
